Job Description

The R&D Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire development process of new products, applications and cloud platform within the organization, from the initial planning phase to implementation or production.

The R&D manager is well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts. They report to the General Manager and they are a member of the Business Unit Managers and the Advisory Board.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals, communicated by product marketing related stakeholders.
  • Supervising the development strategies, policies and plans to fulfill business goal and product marketing requests.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of technology landscape and developments and consolidating our technology platforms and create plans for each
  • Is responsible for the Research and Development processes & specific assets
  • Ensuring that department milestones/goals are met.
  • Forecasting yearly budget for the department and monitoring the costs of R&D activities, Is responsible for the Research and Development processes & specific assets
  • Working collaboratively and developing strong relationships with cross functional teams including QA and Security
  • Managing several teams through their team managers and utilization of resources
  • Being present at industry conferences on research topics of interest
  • Ensures that team members comply with ISMS security policies
  • As a member of the COSEC / security committee: conduct reviews of information security, at planned intervals, to ensure continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness; contribute to the establishment of the ISMS policy, objectives and plans
  • Determines and provides resources to plan, implement, monitor, review and improve information security
  • Manages risks related to its department
  • Ensures that arrangements that involve external organizations having access to information systems and services are based on a formal agreement that defines all necessary security requirements
  • Implements and manages Talk2M related technical security solutions and controls in day to day operations
  • Participates in risk assessments concerning their asset(s)

Your Profile

  • Master Degree with 5 years’ progressive experience in R&D and technical services leading teams
  • Leadership and managerial skills are also important in this role, as well as the ability to communicate well with colleagues and lower level staff with the ability to motivate an experienced R & D team.
  • Need to be able to see the big picture as you will have to envision projects from start to finish. At the same time, having a keen ability to pay attention to details is important, as the R&D manager ultimately need to closely supervise every step of the development process for new products.

    • ISO27001
    • ISMS Policies
    • Risk Management
    • IT Security
  • An expert competence level in:
    • Secure Development Practices
  • A strong sense of creativity will also aid in the process of thinking of new product ideas and solving problems creatively
  • Proven success working well with cross functional peers, especially Product & Marketing, Operations, and QA
  • Passionate, with a hands-on approach, can-do attitude.
